The examination of disabled individuals in Haryana, India was conducted through the data from the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI). A statistical publication titled 'Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) in India- A Statistical Profile: 2021' was released, drawing upon the results of the recent National Sample Survey of Persons with Disabilities and the Census of India 2011 and other reliable sources. The analysis highlights significant challenges, including lower literacy rates, limited employment opportunities, and inadequate healthcare. Disparities between rural and urban areas are evident, particularly in education and support services. Government initiatives such as the Haryana Divyang Pension Scheme and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, are crucial but require enhancement to address the diverse needs of disabled individuals more effectively. Recommendations include improving infrastructure, expanding vocational training, and increasing public awareness to foster a more inclusive environment.
