This research examines the social status of Beda tribal women in Karnataka through analysis of their socio-economic conditions, cultural practices, and contemporary challenges. The Beda community, with a population of approximately 32,96,354, represents one of Karnataka's largest Scheduled Tribes. Despite constitutional safeguards and welfare schemes, Beda women face multiple forms of marginalization including limited education access, economic vulnerability, patriarchal family structures, and harmful practices like the Basavi system. This study, based on secondary data analysis from census reports, government documents, and academic literature, reveals persistent gender disparities alongside emerging positive developments through self-help groups, educational initiatives, and policy interventions. The research provides evidence-based recommendations for enhancing Beda women's social status through comprehensive educational, economic, healthcare, and legal reforms while respecting cultural contexts.
