Self-Help Groups (SHGs) have emerged as an innovative strategy for empowering rural women socially, economically, and politically. This study examines the role of SHGs in Narmadapuram district, focusing on how collective savings, microcredit, and group solidarity contribute to women’s financial independence and social inclusion. The findings highlight that SHGs enhance financial literacy, promote entrepreneurship, and strengthen women’s participation in local governance. However, challenges such as inadequate market linkages, limited state support, and competition from large corporations persist. Strengthening institutional support and capacity building for SHGs can further consolidate their role in rural development and women’s empowerment.
