Development is a dynamic process which includes many aspects such as economy, health, social security, Education, quality of life, Occupation and etc. A caste is a predominant social factor in Indian Society which reflects the development. The scheduled castes that are also known as Out Castes, Harijans, excluded communities are most vulnerable sections of the nation who are being excluded from the upper strata. Their population crossed to 17% in Telangana state. Their development is one of the major challenges for the nation even today. Since past 8 Decades the governments are enacted various welfare and development policies for the upliftment of Scheduled castes, but yet they are remained under developed. This paper aims at what is the status of selected Scheduled castes in Telangana today and what kind of difficulties they are facing today can be studied. It also can be suggested that what kind of actions need to be taken up for the uplifting of these communities in Telangana State.
